McCreadie scores sixth-place finish in Atomic's Buckeye Spring 50
Tim McCreadie and Rocket1 Racing embarked on a new era over the weekend with the New York driver making his debut in the team’s Valvoline / Seubert Calf Ranches No. 1 Rocket1 Racing / Ace Metal Works / XR1 Rocket Chassis / Durham Racing Engine Super Late Model.
McCreadie opened the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) weekend on Saturday with an 11th-place finish in Brownstown Speedway’s Indiana Icebreaker before registering a sixth-place finish on Sunday evening in Atomic Speedway’s Buckeye Spring 50.
“Not a bad weekend for my first time with the team. We’re obviously getting everything ironed out and to the way we all like it. We’ve got all the pieces in place to have a lot of success together, and I’m looking forward to getting more seat time in the coming weeks,” McCreadie said.
With Friday’s opener shifted to Sunday, Tim McCreadie debuted behind the wheel of the Rocket1 Racing No. 1 Super Late Model on Saturday afternoon at Brownstown (Ind.) Speedway for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) sanctioned program.
Drawing 48 cars for the 27th annual Indiana Icebreaker, McCreadie backed up the fourth-fastest qualifying effort in his group with an eight-lap heat race victory. With a $15,000 top prize up for grabs in the feature, Tim lost some ground early in the main event but was able to regain his footing as he rolled to an 11th-place finish in the 50-lapper.
For the Buckeye Spring 50 on Sunday evening at Atomic Speedway (Chillicothe, Ohio), Tim raced into the $12,000-to-win finale with runner-up showing in his heat race. Rolling to a consistent sixth-place finish, McCreadie climbed as high as fourth before ultimately crossing the line in sixth.
Tim sits ninth in the latest LOLMDS standings.
