McCreadie finishes sixth in Slocum 50 at 34 Raceway

While Mother Nature took two of the three scheduled weekend events for Tim McCreadie, he was able to race last Thursday at Iowa’s 34 Raceway, where he led early before ultimately finishing sixth aboard the team’s Valvoline / Seubert Calf Ranches No. 1 Rocket1 Racing / Ace Metal Works / XR1 Rocket Chassis / Durham Racing Engine Super Late Model.

With the Top-10 finish McCreadie continues to sit fourth in the latest LOLMDS point standings.

“The night started good with a solid qualifying effort followed by a heat race win. We were able to lead early there in the feature, but the track threw us a bit of a curveball, and we just weren’t good enough to maintain as the feature wore on. Still a solid sixth-place finish to show for our efforts. It was tough to see the other two events rained out. We’re looking forward to getting back after it on Monday night at Eagle Raceway,” McCreadie said.

Despite Mother Nature winning two of the three Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) scheduled events over the weekend, Rocket1 Racing and Tim McCreadie were able to compete on Thursday at 34 Raceway (West Burlington, Iowa) for the 16th annual Slocum 50.

Drawing 31 Late Models for the event, honoring the late track champion Brent Slocum, McCreadie outran pole-starting Garrett Alberson in his heat race to pick up the eight-lap victory. Chasing the $15,555 top prize in the feature, Tim led the opening circuit and laps 10-13 before ultimately crossing the line sixth in the 50-lapper.

After wet weather forced officials at Tri-City Speedway (Granite City, Ill.) to cancel Friday's event, Saturday night's 18th annual CMH Diamond Nationals at Lucas Oil Speedway (Wheatland, Mo.) also fell victim to Mother Nature.

Tim continues to sit fourth in the latest LOLMDS standings.

Full results from the event are available at www.LucasDirt.com.

The team is now ready for a busy week of Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) competition in Nebraska, Iowa, and South Dakota. Action opens on Monday at Eagle (Neb.) Raceway with a $10,000-to-win affair before shifting to Shelby County Speedway (Harlan, Iowa) on Tuesday for a $10,053-to-win event.

After an off-day on Wednesday the LOLMDS contingent invades Huset’s Speedway (Brandon, S.D.) on Thursday – Saturday for the 14th annual Silver Dollar Nationals weekend. A $10,000-to-win event is slated for both Thursday and Friday and the $53,000-to-win finale on Saturday evening.

Tim McCreadie won the Silver Dollar Nationals in 2017, while Rocket1 Racing snared the win in 2020 with Brandon Sheppard at the wheel.
