Tim McCreadie finishes ninth in North-South 100 at Florence
Tim McCreadie raced to as high as the fourth position in Saturday night’s Sunoco Race Fuels North/South 100 before ultimately finishing ninth in his Valvoline / Seubert Calf Ranches No. 1 Rocket1 Racing / Ace Metal Works / XR1 Rocket Chassis / Durham Racing Engine Super Late Model.
Rocket1 Racing and Tim McCreadie resumed the 2024 Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) campaign over the weekend at Florence Speedway (Union, Ky.) as a pair of preliminary nights kicked off the 42nd annual Sunoco Race Fuels North-South 100.
With the 61-car field divided into two groups, McCreadie rocketed into the Thursday's preliminary feature with a heat race triumph. Gunning for the $6,000 payday, Tim clawed forward one spot in the 25-lap opener to register a third-place finish. He joined Ricky Thornton Jr. and Bobby Pierce on the podium.
On Friday, Tim backed up the second-fastest qualifying effort in his time trial group with a flag-to-flag victory in his heat race. Starting on the second row, McCreadie shuffled a few spots early before regaining a spot on the final lap to finish fifth.
For Saturday's main event, McCreadie squeezed into the $75,000-to-win North-South 100 finale with a third-place heat showing. Rolling off 17th on the feature grid, Tim advanced through the field to as high as the fourth position in the 100-lap affair before sliding backwards in the closing laps to record a ninth-place finish.
On the heels of Saturday's finish, Tim McCreadie climbed to fourth in the latest LOLMDS championship points.
